About Nemiton
Non-emergency medical transportation is an industry where most of the available advice is either a regulation nobody explains or a number nobody sources. Nemiton exists to be the third thing.
Nemiton is an educational publisher. We research how NEMT actually works — who pays, under what authority, on what timetable — and we publish it in plain language, for free, with the sources attached.
We are not a software company, a broker, or a consultancy, and we do not run an NEMT business ourselves. That last part matters more than it sounds: it is why we have no incentive to make the numbers look better than they are, and why we will never present someone else's outcome as our own.
The whole value of this is that the claims hold up. So we hold them to a rule that costs us a great deal of easy content.
Not because we do not know how it works, but because there is no honest national answer. Reimbursement moves with your state, your delivery system, your plan, your broker, your service level and your contract. Anyone quoting you a single figure is guessing. We explain what sets the number and name the authority that publishes yours.
Where a federal rule governs something, we cite it — 42 CFR 431.53 for how a state must assure transportation, 42 CFR 440.170(a)(4)(i) for the contract that must exist before a trip is payable. Where the answer is state-specific, we tell you which office to ask rather than inventing a number that sounds right.
Nemiton is a publisher. We do not run trips, own vehicles, or have operating results of our own, and we will not dress up an illustration as our own experience. When we show a worked example, it is labelled as one.
Including when it is a product we could earn a commission on. Any paid relationship is disclosed on the page, in the video, and in the description. No partner reviews or approves our assessments before publication, and a published assessment never changes because a relationship changed.

The largest single category is state-specific — some version of “what are the rules where I am, and who do I ask?” That is exactly the question a national answer cannot serve, which is why so much of what we publish is a directory of which authority answers which question rather than a set of figures.
